I represent, which is associated
with Humbug is computer club.
Every year Linux Australia holds a conference calls the
"Linux Conference Australia"
Or more precisely, one of the member clubs of Linux
Australia volunteer to organise the conference. Humbug
is hopping of host the conference in 2009, or perhaps 2010.
It is a technical conference centred around the Linux
operating system and its applications. We expect around
1000 people to attend in 2009, approximately 25% coming
from overseas. It is generally recognised as one of the
best of its type in the world.
This is perhaps because as it is run entirely by volunteers
it is refreshingly free of commercial agenda's.
Historically one of the items on the conference agenda is a
Professional Networking session. This is reserved for
attendees who have paid higher priced tickets. We expect
around 400 of them in 2009. Typically the venue chosen for
the session is one that showcases the region. In previous
years it has been at held CSIRO's Canberra Headquarters, a
museum in Adelaide, and a castle in Dunedin, and a zoo in
Perth.
Do you make your premises available for these sorts of
functions? If so, who should I contact?
